Local Lifestyle
People enjoy rural Tennessee and spend much of their time outside, whether hunting in the mountainous woods, fishing in Center Hill Lake, farming just outside of town, hiking in the state parks, or camping under the stars. Baxter residents pick small-town life for its simplicity. There is less traffic here, and most people are familiar with one another.
Baxter is the perfect place for families because of its location near exit 280 and Interstate 40, the three exceptional schools, and the friendly small-town atmosphere.
Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping
There are several parks in the center of Baxter where people can relax or take their kids to play on the playground equipment. Reflection Park and Baxter City Park are next to one another and down the street from the local grade school, making it a convenient place to take children after school.
Another perfect local place is the Twin Lakes Catfish Farm, which has hundreds of fishing poles. Remember to stop by The Whistle Stop for a slice of local pizza and a place to hang out after a long day at the lake.
Things to Do
The Monarch is an expansive, large venue where people marry and prefer it to the traditional wedding in a barn. North of town is the Sulfur Ridge Treehouse, where residents can book a room above the treeline in a hotel designed to resemble a treehouse.
Outside of town, Tightfit Stables is a place where people learn how to ride horses and train them. For golf, the nearest range is Southern Hills Golf & Country Club. When the locals want more nightlife, they can always drive to Nashville and experience the city scene.
